President Obama Marks a New Era of Greener Thinking

January 20th, 2009 by Jonathan

Greener Thinking was founded to try to help find a way to make “going green” more than just a cult with geek like savy. We knew that going green is more than just having a few people who were looking for a challenge. Going green needs to be more of a requirement. It needs to be fashionable and easily accessible and envied. We knew that it would not be too long because there were so many things coming together all at once.

Yesterday I went to the Detroit Auto Show and saw some really cool things that I believe people will want and not because its green but, because its cool. Many people will want the Chevy Volt because it will save them gas money and all the cool gadgets included in the package. That is what green needs to mean. That people will buy a green product because it is BETTER than other products not ONLY because it is green.

Barack Obama looks as though he understands these challenges and would like to increase the perceived value of green products and invest in making them more viable to increase demand. This will eventually make people opt for an electric car, not because gas cars are dirty, but because electric cars perform better and you will never again have to stop at those “Old Fashion Gas Stations.”

Congratulations Barack Obama.
